Praxis is a national nonprofit that works to eliminate all forms of gender-based violence through local, statewide and national social justice initiatives. Praxis works with communities, territories and tribes across the country to examine responses to sexual and domestic violence while promoting social change advocacy at the individual, institutional and community levels.Advocacy Learning Center:Praxis' Advocacy Learning Center revitalizes advocacy programs with the short-term goal of improving responses to survivors seeking their help, and the long-term goal of ending gender-based violence. The ALC provides a rare opportunity for advocates to connect, learn from each other, and strengthen their ability to further social justice.Rural Technical Assistance Project:Rural domestic violence and sexual assault advocates face geographic, political, and philosophical isolation in their work to end gender-based violence. Since 1998, the Praxis has supported rural programs and communities to reduce this sense of isolation by providing peer-to-peer discussion, training, capacity-building and resources that focus on successful strategies for rural settings. Institutional Analysis:Praxis Institutional Analysis is a method of examining how complex institutions and systems operate in ways that either meet people's needs or produce negative outcomes for them. Institutional Analysis discovers information about systems to facilitate their lasting change. Since 2003, Praxis has provided training and consulting to communities engaged in systems advocacy through our Institutional Analysis methodology.Blueprint for Safety:The Blueprint for Safety, originally developed and implemented in Saint Paul, Minnesota, is a prototype that can be used by any community hoping to link its criminal justice agencies together in a coherent, philosophically sound domestic violence intervention model. Praxis consults with communities implementing the Blueprint for Safety model.
