Architecture & Planning

Expanding upon the premise of sustainability, NEW THEME architecture seeks to foster a dialogue between green ideas and their articulation in radical new forms. Functioning as an integrated design-build firm, NEW THEME has engaged a diverse clientele including restaurants, commercial premises and private residences, each time working in a custom fashion to deliver highly individualized and unique results.Founded by Beth Holden and Wolfgang Melian in 2005, the firm pools together a broad base of experience and carries an aesthetic that synthesizes European and American architectural practices. Each project is considered within its own unique dimensions as to location, budget, function and the human need to occupy space. This allows the firm to work collaboratively with clients in an exploratory format where the reality of the structure, as well as those occupying it, form the coordinates around which each project is based.NEW THEME seeks to harmonize the human environment with the natural environment, and redefine the boundaries of responsible and sustainable architecture in new, compelling forms.
