The Center for the Arts & Sciences is the hub of cultural life of southern Brazoria County. With its two performing arts theaters (Freeport LNG Theater and Dow Arena Theater), museum (Brazosport Museum of Natural Science), planetarium (BASF Planetarium), art gallery and art studio, The Center serves as Brazosport Fine Arts Council's most significant conduit for its mission to provide high quality programs to visitors and residents of southern Brazoria County. The Center opened in 1976 and is the home of Brazosport Art League, Brazosport Center Stages, Brazosport Museum of Natural Science, Brazosport Planetarium and Brazosport Symphony Orchestra (concerts performed in Brazosport College's The Clarion performance hall). Located on the campus of Brazosport College, The Center is independently owned and operated by Brazosport Fine Arts Council.
