The Fargo-Moorhead Dorothy Day House of Hospitality (FMDDH) is a caring, Christian community that shelters, nourishes, and empowers people who are homeless and hungry.The Dorothy Day House: An emergency shelter for ten adult men. All guests must be working to make positive changes in their lives. Guests work one-on-one with a shelter case manager to help them figure out a way to permanently end their struggles with homelessness.We also have two food pantries, one in Moorhead, MN, and one in West Fargo, ND.The food pantry provides food baskets to low-income families and individuals from both Cass and Clay counties. Food baskets are distributed Monday and Wednesday from 6:30pm - 7:45pm and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1pm - 2:45pm; no appointments are necessary. We are now offering Daily Bread (only bread and produce given out) on Friday from 9:45am - 11am. Clients can come once per month to obtain a food basket.Dorothy Day West: In 2009, we entered a partnership with Holy Cross Church to provide an additional site where people can access food! This supplemental food pantry site distributes Daily Bread items received through Great Plains Food Bank. It is open Monday AND Wednesday from 3pm – 4:30pm. Clients can come once a week to receive services and must show an ID.
