Hailing from West Virginia Chef Carter Raab comes from a long line of successful cattle farmers. He was raised to appreciate the true value of a wholesome meal made from the freshest, local ingredients. \\His informal training began at an early age where he learned from the expertise and experience of his grandmothers and great aunts who all had been raised in environments where food truly did come from the farm to the table. Formally, Carter gained further culinary insight by being a Le' Cordon Bleu graduate. He gained further knowledge and proficiency with over a decade of experience that has found him in the kitchens of fine dining establishments in Oregon, Florida, South Carolina, and Virginia.\It was during his tenure in Florida where Carter met his wife Amanda. Slowly but surely he dragged her back to the mountains where they made their home and decided to spread the Appalachian idea of best utilizing what is near you and what you know.\\It is with that mindset that they have founded Farm Fresh Fixins; an establishment that strives to utilize what's already in the community, while giving back at the same time. Carter's roots in Appalachia are the main inspiration for the concept and ever changing farm fresh menu. We utilize what is fresh from here in the Shenandoah Valley and work with local farmers, businesses, and people to bring you a one of a kind, fresh, and delicious meal.
