Did you grow up unable to find anyone who looked like you on television? Have you ever been snarked at in a comic shop or at a convention because of what you look like? Do you scour books to find a couple more like you and your significant other -- and usually fail? Then we built Girls in Capes for you. Girls in Capes was founded in 2013 to sit at the intersection of gender, race, sexuality, identity, and pop culture. We rant and rave about TV & Film, Comics & Graphic Novels, Books, Gaming, and Subculture, and we search for the same things you do: entertainment that reflects the world we see around us. On our site, you'll find articles on every aspect of underrepresented groups in geek culture and pop culture. If you don't see it, it's probably on its way. We're female-centric, but that doesn't stop us from exploring other topics, too.
