Established in 1972, the University of Florida College of Dentistry, one of six colleges at UF Health, is the only publicly-funded dental school in the state of Florida and ranks as a national leader in dental education, research, patient care and community service. Located on the University of Florida campus in Gainesville, the College of Dentistry offers all nine ADA-recognized residency specialties.The college is nationally recognized for its oral health research enterprise, emphasizing infectious diseases in dentistry, bone biology, pain and neurosciences, and translational research to improve oral health care and patient outcomes. The UF College of Dentistry ranks No. 5 in NIH research funding among all U.S. dental schools according to the Blue Ridge Institute for Medical Research with $11.2 million awarded in the 2018 fiscal year.Our dental centers provide a complete range of general and specialty dental services and oral health care for adults and children, offering the latest technologies in a professional learning environment. Annual patient satisfaction surveys in all clinical areas show that our patients value the services they receive: 94 percent of patients rated overall quality of care as "excellent" or "very good."Through the UF Statewide Network for Community Oral Health, the college provides affordable, high-quality dental care for a large number of low-income adults and children in Florida. The network consists of four college-owned centers in Gainesville, Hialeah, Naples and St. Petersburg, and 12 affiliated centers located throughout the state. Together these dental centers treat residents from all 67 counties in Florida.
