ElectraLink was created in 1998 by the UK's Electricity Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) to provide an independent, secure and low-cost service to transfer data between the participants in the deregulated UK electricity market. We operate the regulated Data Transfer Service (DTS) which now underpins supplier switching, meter interoperability and other processes critical to the competitive gas and electricity markets in the UK. Since 2012, ElectraLink has been able to provide unique market insight through the analysis of the DTS dataset and our reputation for impartiality and energy market expertise makes us an ideal partner to support industry to develop solutions, facilitate innovation and reduce costs to consumers.For several years, we have been in the process of procuring the Energy Market Data Hub (EMDH) – our way of bringing together all the products, services and solutions we offer in one, easily accessible place. Incorporating and expanding the capability of the DTS, the EMDH is a transformation that will provide a platform for innovation that reflects the transformation of the energy industry. This new platform will allow innovators to develop their own products and services for the benefit of the energy and utilities industries.ElectraLink is also a trusted advisor in energy market governance and manages change in a structured, transparent, fair and cost-effective way. We helped to create and now act as secretariat to the industry ‘rule books', providing governance solutions, advisory services, support and management to a number of codes and our experience in managing these vital industry codes has provided us with a wealth of code framework knowledge.
