IMAGINE...a world where you can travel from Los Angeles to San Fransisco in 30 minutes, or from London to Manchester in 15 minutes. Suddenly you could LIVE anywhere, WORK anywhere, and VISIT anywhere! Hyperloop is a conceptual, high-speed transportation system initially proposed by Elon Musk which consists of passenger and cargo pods being propelled at up to 760 mph (1220 km/h) in a low pressure tube using sustainable and cost-efficient energy. To accelerate its development, SpaceX is hosting a competition for engineering teams to design their own hyperloop pods and test them at their facility in California. rLoop is a non-profit online think tank, competing for the SpaceX Hyperloop competition. The time to revolutionize transportation and bring the world closer together is here, and rLoop is making it a reality. OUR MISSION: The rLoop competition pod is named rPod. It needs to perform the mission of safe, cost-effective, and efficient high speed transit over the length of the Hyperloop test track while providing a comfortable cabin for a self-contained flight data recorder and passenger dummy, for the SpaceX Competition. OUR VALUES: OPEN INNOVATION - PASSION - RESPONSIBILITY rLoop is comprised of over 300 members representing more than 15 countries. We believe in the power of open source collaboration. It's our driving ethos, our catalyst for innovation, and our means to exponential growth. We believe individuals can have a massive impact when their passion is their incentive, and when they know they are making a difference. CONTRIBUTE TO THE FUTURE OF TRANSPORTATION: rLoop sees the Internet as a tool for empowering humanity. We are sprawling online collective and open-source design. Keeping up with the crowdsourcing theme, rLoop started a crowdfunding campaign to fund its own prototype. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/help-build-rloop-s-pod-for-spacex-hyperloop-comp#/
