Food Forward fights hunger and prevents food waste by rescuing fresh surplus produce, connecting this abundance with people in need and inspiring others to do the same.We are a volunteer-powered group of Southern Californians who are passionate about reconnecting to our food system, promoting issues of food justice, and making change around hunger in our community.We recover food from backyards, farms, orchards, 25 weekly farmers markets, and 300+ wholesale produce vendors across the region. 100% of the fresh, nutritious fruits and vegetables recovered by Food Forward are delivered to 325 hunger relief agencies, some of which distribute to an additional 1,600 local direct service agencies. Food Forward's service partners distribute these rescued fruits and vegetables to families and individuals experiencing food insecurity across eight Southern California counties.
