The mission of Heart, Love & Soul (HLS) is to feed those in need – body, mind, and soul. HLS provides a food pantry, daily breakfast and lunch, case management, and care coordination through an onsite nurse provided by Mt. St. Mary's Hospital/Catholic Health. HLS is well known in Niagara Falls for providing meals, hospitality, and social care services in the north end of Niagara Falls– a community burdened by high rates of poverty, vacancy, and unemployment. In addition to providing emergency food and social care services, HLS partners with several community organizations to offer additional services directly onsite, including cooking and nutrition classes, Narcotics Anonymous services, foot clinics, and other health services. Close partnerships with Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, Niagara University, and a variety of service agencies strengthen its role as a key community service provider for populations that are food insecure, low-income, mentally-ill, disabled, and homeless. HLS also offers Daybreak, a one-stop center that will provide a single point of access for a range of community services, such as shower and laundry facilities, employment and training, homeless street outreach, and more.
