Project Accountant at Primary Education Project (PEP) - Diocese of Hyderabad Pakistan - Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan
Primary Education Project is a pioneer organization working with the marginalized communties in rural Sindh since 2002 to provide quality education to children, espcially girls without discrimination in unreached areas, and deeply committed to transforming lives of people through training, networking and nurturing values that would make them change agants in their communities. The very first school of PEP was opened in a small village of Mirpurkhas, and most of the students in that school were from Bheel community (a rural Hindu tribe). The Bheel community was marginalized because the people were very poor and worked only as farmers. The children of the Bheel community worked along with their parents in fields and many girls and boys were chained in bonded labor. They were considered as lower caste and other people did not want to interact with the Bheel community because of their poverty. But what this community needed was, acceptance, respect and the most of all, education! Most of the problems Bheel community faced was because of not having education and something had to be done. Thus, PEP opened a school in this community and many children, girls and boys got an opportunity to receive education. In the new village school, It was the first time when girls had started going to a school.
