In the year 2017, Haveli Dharampura won UNESCO Asia -Pacific Award for Cultural Restoration. The conservation and restoration of Haveli Dharampura rescued an extraordinary 19th century residence in Old Delhi from years of unsuitable intervention.Built around 200 years ago, Haveli Dharampura derives its name from its locality. ‘Dharampura' was named after the word ‘Dharam'-religion, likely because of the presence of large number of Jain temples and a close proximity of the historic Jama Masjid. It is now adapted as a luxe boutique hotel and restaurant. The Haveli has 14 rooms for guests to stay in named after the Gates or the Markets of Old Delhi. The Restaurant ‘Lakhori' is dedicated to Lakhori Bricks, one of the main construction materials in the Mughal period. To highlight them, the walls have been unplastered around the restaurant that takes its name from the brick. www.havelidharampura.com
