The OrganizationEstablished in 1985, the Montana History Foundation seeks to preserve the legacy of Montana's past. With an eye on the future, the Foundation's central goal is to generate public support to save the rich cultural heritage and historic resources of Montana. Our approach is both creative and personal -- offering donors the opportunity to connect with and support unique projects of special interest to them and historical importance to Montana. We grant funds, mobilize the generosity of donors and collaborate with individuals and organizations to explore and honor Montana history.Vision: The Montana History Foundation is the leading source for contributions and funding to preserve and protect history resources throughout Montana.Who We Are and What We Do:• We offer grants for projects unique to Montana through our Preserve Montana Fund.• We offer donors a variety of giving options including donor designated funds and endowment giving.• This includes access to our nonprofit management expertise through fiscal sponsorship of donor projects.• The MHF also collaborates with other organizations on worthy ideas such as education about preservation.• We work to maintain Montana's authentic history through development and advisory leadership. In 2014, the Montana History Foundation has awarded grants of more than $75,000 in support of dozens of programs. Since its inception, the MHF has granted millions of dollars to support history projects in Montana.
