UConn UTC IASE Associate Director, Associate Professor-In-Residence at UTC Institute for Advanced Systems Engineering - , Connecticut, United States
The UTC Institute for Advanced Systems Engineering will enhance the technology and processes for the design and development of complex engineered systems that:Provide guarantees of performance and reliability against customer requirements while achieving business cost and time-to-market objectivesProduce modular, extensible architectures for products incorporating mechanical and electrical components, embedded systems and application softwareExploit model-based analytical methodology and tools to determine design choices and ensure robust system performance despite variations caused by product manufacturing, integration with other products and customer operation in varying environmental conditionsAchieve these objectives through the coordinated execution of a prescriptive, repeatable and measurable design processThe Institute aspires to become a research and teaching establishment in the science and technology of complex systems, revolutionizing the design of functionally superior, easy-to-use and maintain, safe, reliable, secure and trustable CPS. Its anticipated mandate will be to consistently bridge the gap between abstract problems and mathematics, and the creation of prototype tools that can be used by systems engineers.
