RAD Advocates, a nonprofit organization, was founded by mothers with firsthand experience parenting children with reactive attachment disorder. Each person on our team has faced the intense difficulties that come with reactive attachment disorder and the lack of resources available to support children and families. We all felt alone and isolated until we found our way to the "secret, underground" world of families with reactive attachment disorder. We found support and understanding with families who were facing similar issues and we could connect and learn from the experiences of others. We believe that this disorder must be brought to the forefront in order to increase awareness and to ensure that those affected receive proper interventions and treatment. These families and children deserve the same opportunities for treatment as those with other medical conditions.
