LUPI – Lundbeck Pharmaceuticals Italy – is an Italian manufacturer of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and cGMP Intermediates, provider of API development and production services to key players in the Life Science Industry.LUPI's story roots back to 1929, when the company was established under the name of VIS Farmaceutici (Istituto Scientifico delle Venezie) as a small family pharmaceutical business playing in the domestic market. After dismissing the pharmaceutical production, VIS Farmaceutici focused entirely on fine chemistry, becoming one of the pioneer manufacturers of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients and cGMP Intermediates in Italy. Under this new set-up, the first FDA inspection was passed in 1972, starting a long series of successful international inspections that the company hosted over the years while constantly broadening its range of partners and clients. In year 2000, VIS Farmaceutici was acquired by H. Lundbeck A/S and became LUPI, an independent Business Unit of H. Lundbeck A/S.
