Eagle Medical Transports, LLC is a full service ambulance company based out of Newport News, Virginia. It provides emergency and non-emergency transportation for hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, private residents, doctor's offices, and rehabilitation centers just to name a few. The company was founded in January 2008 by Mr. Shaun Sorensen, an Emergency Medical Technician – Intermediate (EMT-I) himself. It became a Limited Liability Company during the same year. Mr. Sorensen used his talent to acquire two ambulances, some patients, and opened an office. For Mr. Sorensen, the patient always comes first. He had a keen eye for recognizing the needs and weaknesses of the company. Mr. Kenneth Franklin, a longtime friend of Mr. Sorensen's, joined the company in March 2009. Mr. Franklin was hired as the General Manager and Chief to improve and update the administrative branch of the company. Over the years, the company has grown and management shifted. By the end of 2009, Mr. Sorensen and Mr. Franklin no longer outsourced billing, dispatching, and vehicle maintenance. In April 2010, Franklin was offered 50% ownership in the company and the position of COO for his hard work and accomplishments. Based on the high demand for services, EMT expanded its operations in January 2012 adding an additional station in Norfolk to cover the more southern areas of Hampton Roads. In June 2013, EMT opened an additional location in Chesterfield County to service all of Central Virginia.
