Child Legacy International is a non-profit organization working in Africa to transform lives by providing opportunities that break the generational cycle of poverty and despair.Child Legacy International (CLI) first began operating in Zimbabwe, Africa in 1987 when Jeff and Karen Rogers founded the organization. Realizing that immediate needs was not enough to make real lasting changes, Child Legacy designed, planned, and strategically delivered a new approach to humanitarian relief work -- the Sustainable Program Development Model (SPDM).Now with a second and much larger SPDM location in rural Malawi, Child Legacy International is positioned to make an impact on development and aid delivery on a global scale. Our aid is divided into four distinct categories of Education & Training, Agriculture, Healthcare and Clean Water. - Education and Training has a 94% job placement rate teaching marketable skills development on-site through mentorship and paid internships - Agriculture includes 100+ acres or irrigated land, 8 aquaculture ponds with over 2 million stocked tilapia, 100% organic practices all which feeds 120 employees daily and is the main source of CLI's overall economic sustainability - Healthcare has treated over 200,000 patients since 2012 in our Community Hospital which includes a full Maternity/Delivery suite in a country with the highest maternal and neonatal mortality rates in the world - Clean Water has repaired over 3,200 wells since 2008 while teaching health and hygiene practices during the repairWe believe in giving a hand UP, not a hand out. Equip people so they don't need you and me anymore. That has to be our goal. --Jeff Rogers, CLI Co-Founder &CEO
