In 1984, Sheryl and Jay Borish opened a small restaurant composed of only 10 seats and a counter, serving the freshest food that Sheryl could get her hands on. This small spot was the precursor to a much more ambitious operation. As of 2010, the Borish family runs six full-service restaurants, two neighborhood bars and Philadelphia's leading full-service catering department under the Marathon Grill brand. Each location offers standard patronage, semi-private and full private event rentalThe Marathon Grill name is synonymous with fresh ingredients, great food and most importantly, comfortable spaces. Each location stands is a friendly landmark along the streets of downtown Philadelphia, from 10th street all the way to 40th. We are fortunate to serve more people than ever, and the same principles apply: fresh food, consistent service and the distinct experience of dining as a part of the Marathon family.
