K9 Youth Alliance enriches the lives of young people as they help prepare abandoned dogs for permanent homes. 👦🏾 👧🏻 🐶We are a group of people who are passionate about the potential of the human-animal bond to:➢ promote socio-emotional growth➢ enhance opportunities for youth ➢ give homeless dogs the chance to live a happy life. In our 3-week programs, kids and dogs learn together with encouragement of our dedicated team members. We teach humane education and use rewards-based dog training as a model for promoting self-discovery and nonviolence.K9YA students enrich the lives of the dogs they work with by providing much-needed socialization, teaching basic behaviors and developing trusting relationships. K9YA dogs empower the youth they work with and help them understand the importance of empathy, clear communication and a positive outlook.
