Sherman Theatrical Entertainment was created as a musical theatre and entertainment company with an early emphasis on theatrical production and music publishing and licensing. Founded by Robert J. Sherman, Bret Goldin and Andrew Kaplan in 2020, the company builds on the 100-year, 3-generation Sherman family songwriting legacy. Robert J. Sherman follows closely in his songwriting grandfather, Al Sherman and songwriting father and uncle, the Sherman Brothers' footsteps. Al Sherman wrote songs for Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby and the Sherman Brothers wrote the scores for musicals including Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and the Disney theme park song: It's a Small World After All.
