OMSA stands for the Ontario Medical Students Association, of which every medical student in Ontario is a member-at-large. The OMSA brings together the essence of the medical school experience with a diverse student population. OMSA is also the dedicated student voice of the Ontario Medical Association (OMA). The organization represent the views and concerns of the over 3,000 Ontario medical students on a number of issues. Students at each of the six Ontario medical schools (Western, McMaster, Toronto, Queens, Ottawa, and the Northern Ontario School of Medicine) elect two representatives to serve on the Student Section Executive Council for a two-year term. In addition, these representatives elect two Co-Chairs, a Director of Communications, a Director of Representation, a Director of Services and an Information Officer/Treasurer to serve for a one year term.
