We are a group of enthusiasts, who love dealing and enjoying excellent wines. We would like to share our passion with everyone willing to learn more about one of the oldest wine regions in the World.Slovenia and Croatia are counted among traditional wine-producing countries that have been making wine for centuries. The countries are part of the so-called Old World that includes countries like France, Italy, Spain. In the Old World, wine means tradition, attachment, culture and sometimes needless romanticism and rituals accorded to wine. The New World however, considers wine to be little more than a product to be manufactured and sold with profit. Slovenia is around the 20th place on the list of wine-producing countries, headed by France, Italy, Spain, USA and Argentina. Slovenia produces about 0.3 percent of world's wine. Not much, but very exclusive! Slovenia's size, but by no means its influence, is comparable to Alsace, Burgundy, or New Zealand.Despite enormous increase in quality in the past two decades, wine-lovers remain ignorant of our wines. But things are changing. In November 2008, the world's leading wine authors and critics headed by Jancis Robinson, judged Aleš Kristiančič to be one of the twelve most influential winemakers in the world! The experts know and acknowledge wines from Slovenia and Croatia. The next step are retailers and sommeliers. Our wines can certainly surprise. Usually pleasantly.
