Ani is a new, simple, non-profit platform that allows Armenians from the diaspora to help students in Armenia learn English through skype. Ani matches students in Armenia with English coaches from the diaspora, students and coaches then Skype once a week for 30-45min using the Ani lesson guide to practice, test and improve the student's English. It was launched in October 2015 in partnership with 2 schools in Yerevan, 20 students from Armenia and 20 coaches from across the Armenian diaspora, including the US, Australia, Canada and the UAE. It now continues to expand across Armenia and the Armenian diaspora, with our ultimate vision being that 100% of all Armenian students speak fluent English by 2025. It is a true non-profit so it's absolutely free for everyone – students and coaches. The aim is to mobilize the enormous Armenian diaspora using technology to radically transform English proficiency levels in Armenia.
