Vision: Every child has access to learner – centric quality education irrespective of chance of birth. Mission: We facilitate sustainable learner centric thriving communitiesOrganizational Values: - We are not there yet so we will work harder with excellence and humility- I am not to emancipate anyone or make anything/anyone's life better. I will walk hand in hand and witness while ‘we' transform ourselves in the process.- Education is a transformative tool to live a life of dignity. Our preamble summates the vision for EducationCurrent work: - Our first project focuses on working with Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalyas. The detailing of this has been mentioned below: -Introduction: -KGBV program started in 2004 with a vision of providing access of quality education to the girls belonging to unprivileged section (SC, ST, OBC and BPL) of the society predominantly in difficult areas. It provides 75% of seats for girls belonging to SC, ST, OBC or minority communities and priority for the remaining 25% is accorded to girls from families below poverty line. The scheme is being implemented in 27 states/UTs and 3609 KGBVs by Government of India in 460 districts as on 30th June 2014 (MHRD, 2015). Problem: - The teachers and student community of KGBVs exist in isolation with lack of acknowledgement, lack of quality in-service support, minimum expectations from these girls and their voices not being heard are some of the issues which we are trying to work on.Intended solution: - We intend to aim at whole school transformation of these KGBVs primarily focusing on: -- Facilitating creation of thriving communities of KGBV teachers, girls and systemic stakeholders, which could help them transform their school. Education remains as a central transformative tool for the same.- Creating a support system for the KGBVs and it becomes part of their in-service support system- Making their voices heard and getting people together aligned with the cause.
