Since 1952, the AIA Trust serves as a vital risk management resource for members and components of the American Institute of Architects. As such, the Trust develops and offers insurance and benefit programs of the greatest possible value for members. The AIA Trust is dedicated to assisting AIA members in making decisions about complex matters. As a risk management resource for the practice of architecture, the AIA Trust provides a wide range of free risk management tools & educational resources for both AIA members and components. White papers on evolving risk topics, professional liability insurer database, guides & webinars for starting a firm, continuing education opportunities, retirement planning guides, and component grants are just a sampling of the many resources available to AIA members & components. The AIA Trust website provides easy, comprehensive access to benefit programs and free resources. The AIA Trust launched a health insurance exchange program with superior choices and customer service. Benefit programs range from professional liability insurance and business owners coverage to employee life and disability insurance programs to retirement programs and individual auto and homeowners coverage. There are many options to meet a wide range of member needs. The AIA Trustees, six of whom are AIA members and one AIA component executive appointed by the AIA President, work with independent consultants and Trust staff to evaluate, select, and monitor programs that meet the Institute's high standards of quality, value, financial stability, service, and coverage. The Trust continually examines its current programs and the marketplace, adding new programs and new benefits every year. The Trust serves as a member-advocate in getting information and claims handled properly and promptly. The ever-expanding practice management resources are offered free to AIA members to help manage their risks successfully.
