Macheo supports vulnerable children with a tailored set of cost-effective interventions that address their needs and the underlying root causes of these. The aim is to ensure that they live a fulfilling life and, in turn, provide a good environment for the next generation.Macheo Children's Organization was started in 2005 with the overall aim to improve the circumstances in which many disadvantaged children in Kenya grow up. Over time, Macheo has grown into a highly regarded NGO, with backing from the Kenyan Government and other development partners and funding partners. Macheo envisions a society where children can live happily in a safe, caring, and stimulating environment that promotes the best of their potential.In addition, our mission is to empower parents and communities to provide a safe, caring and stimulating environments for children in which their needs are met, so they can live a fulfilling life and provide a good environment for the next generation. To achieve such an intergenerational impact, Macheo uses a holistic approach to ensure that we focus on the vulnerable children that will benefit most. For each supported child, their needs, and the root causes of these, are addressed in the most impactful and cost-effective way. We do this by involving the local community as much as possible, and by bridging the gap to available but inaccessible public services. We continuously monitor and adjust our interventions to maximize our impact so that one day our help will no longer be needed. We believe that every child deserves a future and we strive to ensure that the children get the best out of us!Through Macheo on a yearly basis the lives of 20,000 children are positively affected. Sometimes small, sometimes life changing or even sometimes……. lifesaving.
