The name Van Bulck is in reference to his mother's maiden name.His mother, who is also a renowned chef, was born and raised in a small town called Watou in Flanders which is known across the globe for growing some of the best hops. As a child she grew up and played in her uncle's family brewery where her passion for craft beer was born. Today she still runs the family hotel/restaurant where she only works with organic products.
