Organic Soup Kitchen delivers nutrient dense SoupMeals straight to the doors of our most fragile neighbors, including low income seniors and those battling cancer and chronic illness. Since 2009, we have been the sole organization in Santa Barbara County delivering small-batch soups made with organic vegetables, healthy fats and oils and medicinal quality spices. Our Cancer Recovery Program is the first of its kind to support and uplift the health and wellness of patients and caregivers during the treatment and recovery process. Individuals facing financial and medical challenges often suffer from food abuse due to a lack of resources. They may not have access to high quality nutrition and only be able to purchase processed foods that lack essential nutrients and minerals. Much like substance abuse, foods with high carbohydrates and sugars are addictive, and over consumption can lead to diabetes, obesity, heart disease, cancer and other chronic illness. Everything we do from clinically formulating immune-building soup recipes and using 100% safe packaging to providing no-cost food security for our most vulnerable community members is because we believe that everyone should have access to exceptional nutrition that nourishes the body and spirit. We are a leader in environmentally conscious production, including the sourcing of organic produce and the processing and packaging of our soup meals. Our dedicated team of employees and volunteers have served well over a million bowls of soup and look forward to serving a million more.
