Darlington Raceway is a race track in Darlington, South Carolina, United States. Since opening in 1950, it has annually hosted the Bojangles' Southern 500, one of the crown jewels of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series schedule, traditionally on Labor Day weekend. The NASCAR XFINITY Series also competes at Darlington on Labor Day weekend with the annual running of the Sport Clips Haircuts VFW 200. The entire race weekend at Darlington is known as NASCAR's Official Throwback Weekend where the entire sport pays homage to its history and heritage.In addition to NASCAR, the track hosts community events such as the Speed & Feed BBQ Cook-Off and Classic Car Show, Movie Nights, a Kids' Club Day and other annual events year-round. The track has a distance of 1.366 miles with a banking of 25 degrees in Turns 1 and 2 and a banking of 23 degrees in Turns 3 and 4.
