Mullen Heller Architecture, P.C. is an energetic architectural firm established in March, 2001. Principals Michele Mullen, AIA and Douglas Heller, AIA have decades of experience in a variety of project types for both private entities and public institutions. Doug and Michele are supported by the talents of three architects, a production manager, and an office manager/accountant for a total staff of seven. Michele and Doug met in 1989 as architectural interns working together at JPJ Architects in Dallas, Texas. While working on large civic and educational projects, they formulated the backbone of their office practice today: a seamless project organization that allows them to focus on design and each client's specific needs. In 1992, Doug and Michele moved to Albuquerque to work within the architectural language of the Southwest, be part of a diverse culture, and live near the mountains! After nearly 10 years of work with notable firms in Albuquerque, they created Mullen Heller Architecture. Beyond our experience in new and renovated facilities for learning environments, our repertoire of projects encompasses many building types with elements relevant to elementary school design. We have successfully designed professional office buildings, pediatric clinics, health clubs, and large assembly buildings ranging from churches to parish halls, all of which were designed to be welcoming and durable. We are specialists in problem solving and relish taking on challenging projects with a twist.Mullen Heller Architecture was created with the goal of building and maintaining lasting client relationships. In this time of high-speed, technology-driven project design and delivery methods, we believe successful projects are still achieved through good listening skills, personal interaction, critical thinking, reflection, and innovative problem solving.
