Prodevelop is the result of a start-up created in 1993 under the umbrella of the European Centre for Business and Innovation (CEEI) in the Technology Park of Valencia. Right from the start we directed our efforts towards Geographical Information Systems and the application of this technology in the port sector.From this beginning, the company evolved towards other technologies and other sectors, nevertheless its strong commitment to its original orientation remained.Development has gone hand in hand with the latest technological trends, which have been adapted to each client's situation and each project developed.In 2001, there was a Management Buy-Out, after which the board of directors took controlling interest of the company, redirecting it towards technological specialization and the application of reliable work methodologies. Its presence was increased in non consolidated sectors, such as the Civil Service; the company achieved an outstanding position in terms of technology and new collaborative policies were developed.As a result of these changes, Prodevelop started to use open code software in the solutions they offered. The success of this initiative lead to a more in depth study of business models based on free software; involvement in development communities and the diffusion of multi-disciplinary projects based on free software.Technological specialization has gone hand in hand with the adoption of an R+D policy, both on an internal level, as well as for research consortiums for technologies connected to geospatial solutions, mobility or software engineering.
