Launched in November 2014, Ristorante Frescobaldi is a high end Italian restaurant that brings the Tuscan experience to London's Mayfair. The restaurant has been acclaimed for its exquisite food and wine pairings, exceptional atmosphere and stunning interiors that are a modern interpretation of the Frescobaldi's extraordinary 700-year long family history.The restaurant is a joint venture between Frescobaldi , one of Italy's oldest and most respected wine dynasties, and the Good Food Society (GFS), founded by Levent Büyükugur and Sanjay Nandi. Ristorante Frescobaldi is operated by GFS.Head chef Roberto Reatini (Zafferano, Shoreditch House) has created an exquisite menu offering a contemporary take on classic Tuscan dishes. Only the very finest Italian ingredients are used, whilst all the restaurant's pasta and bread is made on site. The focaccia is rendered even more delicious by Laudemio olive oil, now regarded as one of the finest in the world.Key to the Frescobaldi experience is an extensive array of wines produced by the legendary Marchesi de' Frescobaldi, whose modern empire encompasses nine estates, distribution in 65 countries and countless awards. The list ranges from entry level wines such as Castiglioni Chianti 2013 through to the flagship Frescobaldi cuvée, Brunello di Montalcino Castelgiocondo Riserva. Some 50 vintages are available by the glass, allowing for unparalleled food and wine pairing.The Frescobaldi heritage in evidence throughout the restaurant's elegant interiors. The handsome dining room is dominated by huge ceramic murals. Classic Frescobaldi vintages are etched into the oak panelling, whilst the bottles themselves are stacked on illuminated circular shelves and stored in a glass wine cellar for all to view.Downstairs is a more intimate lounge that also incorporates a private area for up to 28 people for seated dinner or up to 40 for a standing cocktails and canapés reception.
