The St Vincent de Paul Society in Australia (Vinnies) has more than 40,000 members and volunteers, who provide practical frontline support, advocacy and friendship for the most vulnerable members of our community.More than 13 percent of the Australian population are living in poverty, 1.5 million people are unemployed or underemployed, the bottom fifth of households receive only 2.5 percent of wages, and a quarter of Australians live with a long-term health condition or disability.
