Paul G. Silber, Jr. started his own firm and became a consulting engineer in 1957. In 1970, he established Silber and Associates, who until recently, primarily focused on providing MEP engineering services for public schools in Texas. During the near 50 years of Silber's existence, they have provided innovative engineering, state of the art designs, and continue to be involved in projects containing complex and sophisticated mechanical and electrical systems including energy management, flexible lighting control, telecommunications, and multimedia. Silber & Associates currently house a small staff, focused on working with large and small school districts in Central Texas. Silber's resume includes MEP design services for more than 420 schools, including being the firm that brought air conditioning to 77 of San Antonio ISD's schools in 1985. Silber's extensive history and resume has made them the choice by several clients to assist with the development of standardized MEP criteria and guide specifications. Additionally, Silber has completed a number of sophisticated laboratory research projects along with high-end University work.
