Project Coordinator at Wilkes Recovery Revolution, Inc. - North Wilkesboro, NC, US
It's my pleasure to introduce you to Wilkes Recovery Revolution, Inc., a non-profit corporation working to address addiction issues in the county by guiding residents through recovery and back into productive lives. My own story of addiction was recently featured in The Economist and The Winston-Salem Journal and I came through that experience committed to providing the support system of family, friends and community that empowered my recovery. – But that means I need your help. We currently offer transition recovery housing for both men and women in the Town of North Wilkesboro; serving as the link back into a structured and healthy lifestyle through a safe, clean and affordable atmosphere. We're the bridge between treatment and independence; the critical moment in everyone's journey. We're a therapeutic community living environment providing the foundation of a new start. We have a proven record of success. So far we've given over 50 local residents the opportunity of a better life; over 80 percent of those clients reintegrated with family and children; over 60 percent of the women regained custody or visitation of their kids; over 95 percent became employed within their first three weeks of on-site recovery. Residents often come into recovery at rock bottom, without the financial resources to support their journey. We pick them back up and get them back into the workforce; but we need donations to sustain the effort. Through your support we're providing a safe environment, employment opportunities, work-ethic and skill training, substance abuse classes, and groups supporting mental, physical and spiritual health.
