Cherish Our Children International (COCI) is on a mission to develop and fund programs creating brighter futures for the world's most vulnerable children. We envision a world in which every child has the opportunity to live their life fully and make their unique contribution. The Programs COCI takes on address huge challenging problems in a unique creative way by passionate individuals who are unstoppable in dreaming big and seeing a brighter future where previously there was no way. For example, our program in Houston for high school children of incarcerated parents, serves children who would normally face a "predictable" future of dropping out of school, 70% would "predictably" end up in prison. We say NO to that statistic. Through participation in our program, No More Victims, Inc., these children are graduating and moving on to become productive citizens with families and breaking the generational cycle of incarceration. Our Board clearly distinguishes us from other charities. We are comprised of outstanding individuals who bring a diverse and creative perspective to solving problems. By joining us, each member makes a commitment to participate as a "working board member." They hold each other accountable to their commitments and work as a team to establish solid governance and raise funds to support our mission. Issues that arise are quickly addressed and solved. By having a working board, our organization saves thousands of dollars by engaging in-kind donations for expertise needed such as legal, marketing and financial.
