Arnold Siegel is a noted contemporary American thinker. He is the founder and driving force behind Autonomy and Life, an organization devoted to improving and promulgating Siegel's philosophy. Since 1985, Autonomy and Life has touched the lives of more than 5,000 individual students through its three-day Retreat Workshops and two-day Advanced Classes, all led by Siegel himself in locations across the United States. Siegel also operates and regularly contributes to Autonomy and Life's blog — a free, open-to-the-public window into the foundational tenets of Autonomy and Life. Siegel was born in New York City. After completing his undergraduate education, he moved west to California in 1960 and found work at an ascendant Los Angeles accounting firm. A diligent and talented worker with a brilliant mind, he rose quickly. By age 30, he was named managing partner of the firm's San Francisco office — the company's youngest accountant ever to hold that title. Arnold Siegel moved to a prominent Bay Area real estate development firm in 1973, closing several major deals (including one of the region's largest waterfront residential communities built to date) during his half-decade tenure there. He launched or led several additional ventures before leaving the business world for good to pursue his true passion, Autonomy and Life. Siegel currently resides in Northern California. When he's not traveling to teach Autonomy and Life's coursework or spending time with his family, he can be found contemplating the latest challenge in his never-ending quest to help all Americans live healthy, fulfilling, contributory lives.
