After hundreds of hours of attending "networking events" that lacked diversity in attendees, content, and value three underrepresented Founders in New York City set out to make a change in the startup ecosystem. The Village Collective began in April 2019 as an idea to host a monthly breakfast and happy hour curated for minority founders, entrepreneurs, investors or working professionals where serious networking, growth opportunities, collaboration and resource sharing could take place.The community has grown to over 100+ membersThe Village Collective's mission is to empower underrepresented startup founders of color by providing dedicated skills trainings, thought provoking programming and value additive networking. We embrace the age old saying "it takes a village" by pooling the resources of our community sponsors and supporters to elevate the entrepreneurial ambitions of our "villagers."
