Increase patient safety:Approximately 5% to 8% of all instrument sets wrapped for sterilization have to be reprocessed due to tears in the Blue Wrap. That number can increase to 30% when wrapping heavy orthopedic instrument sets. These sets then need to be "flashed" leading to a potential risk of infection. The reprocessing of instruments during a procedure takes and an average of 22 minutes per event. Reduce unfriendly environmental waste:Blue Wrap makes up as much as 55% of the total volume of disposable plastics leaving the OR.The Blue Wrap is made of polypropylene and takes up to 200 years to degrade in our landfills.
