For more than 40 years, Maharishi University of Management (MUM) has pioneered a new approach to learning, called Consciousness-Based education, which supplies a missing element to education. MUM has developed some exciting new disciplines as well, including Sustainable Living and Maharishi Vedic Science. Consciousness-based Education Students also study each subject in light of fundamental principles of their own consciousness. Education until now has been information-based. At MUM we go beyond acquiring information by developing consciousness and brain functioning. Multicultural Student Body MUM features a highly diverse, multicultural student body, with an average of 85 countries every year. Students develop friendships that reach across international borders. The Block System Students take one full-time course per month. This allows them to immerse themselves in a field of study without the stress of 3-4 other classes at the same time.
