Finance and lnvestments Club of Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (Finclub, IIMC) is dedicated to increasing awareness about the world of Finance among IIM Calcutta students and beyond. Finclub, IIMC helps in getting a ground up introduction to finance through in-house events and real-world finance experience. In addition to its preparation sessions, Finclub also conducts weekly financial meetings called "Fintastic Fridays", hosts guest speakers, and conducts networking events with finance professionals and alums. Finclub also actively conducts various Stock pitch and trading competitions in collaboration with leading financial service firms and actively encourages students to participate in various competitions.Also Finclub has its own student-run fund called "Joka Advantage Fund (JAF)" which is entirely run by students of IIM Calcutta. Students help manage JAF under the direction of the JAF's Managers (Final Year students), faculty members and external advisors. JAF provides hands on investment experience to IIM Calcutta graduates. Investing across asset classes, the fund consists of investment research teams who do in-depth analysis to produce stock pitches presented to stakeholders at weekly asset management meetings. Strong ideas are selected for inclusion in the portfolio, which is kept well diversified. JAF has been consistently doing well in terms of RoI and this year it has managed to beat the market by 3% and provided a return of ~10% in about 3 months.
