The Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre (Food Centre) is a non-profit organization and global leader in providing expertise and resources to assist agri-businesses in exploring opportunities in the food and beverage industry. The Food Centre's line of expertise include ingredient, food and process development; plant-based proteins; processing; extrusion; food safety education and training; and path finding.The Food Centre operates several processing facilities with hundreds of different pieces of equipment to manufacture a variety of food products – from jams, granola bars, and meat products to kimchi! Our facilities are distributed across 2 locations – our 10,000 square ft Pilot Plant on the University of Saskatchewan campus and our 55,200 square ft Agri-Food Innovation Centre located in Saskatoon's holiday park industrial area. Both locations have many certifications and offer different processing options for food processors to access local markets or international markets.Since inception, the Food Centre has helped develop and process over 900 products, all destined for local and world markets.
