TUSDEC (Technology Upgradation and Skill Development Company) was established in 2005 under section 42 of the Companies' Ordinance. It is a not for profit, guarantee limited company based on public - private partnership and is a wholly owned subsidiary of PIDC (Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation). It has been established to upgrade technology and skills of key and strategic industrial clusters and connect Pakistan to the global value-chain. TUSDEC is created with a goal to support Pakistani industries to ‘jump the curve' by creating a series of ‘jumps' (i.e. technology upgrades) that ultimately result in manufacturing parity with the developed world. Over the last six years, TUSDEC has emerged as a premier implementation and skill enhancement agency for development initiatives in the realm of public – private partnership. Efficiency, economy and effectiveness is the hallmark of TUSDEC approach and it consistently strives to earn value for the public money. TUSDEC has implemented range of development initiatives for the Ministry of Industries in areas such as Engineering, Cement, Garments and Skill Development. TUSDEC has also partnered with the ADB to establish and manage Engineering Support Centres in various parts of the country besides establishing a Ceramics Development and Training Complex in Gujranwala.
