The Centre for Environment Research and Development (CERD) had been established in the year 1989 as an independent Research, Consultancy, and evaluation study centric organization by Dr. S. K. Jain with the inspiration of Late Dr. Bhagat Singh ARS, a pioneer in the field of Agricultural Research and Development. The CERD has the following aims and objects:1. Undertaking research and evaluation studies covering contemporary issues and current problems involved especially in the planning and implementation of developmental programs2. Environmental Impact Assessment & Management and Risk Analysis, 3. Social Impact Assessment and Management Plans for Development Projects.4. Preparation of Framework and Outline of Educational Research and Management for Effective Policy Interventions. 5. Conducting studies in Project Planning and Evaluation, both in respect of completed and on-going programs i.e., Concurrent and Summative evaluation in the area of education, environment, culture and development, and6. Taking-up the job of Analytical study and Project Evaluation and provide technical consultancy in the fields of Project Planning, Execution, Management and Loss Minimization with special reference to environmental education and global care.7. Carryout large surveys including GIS surveys for cities and Rural areas
