Our team at Hue came together as three women of color, who struggled with representation in beauty and finding makeup products that worked best for our complexion - despite all being at different points of the shade spectrum. As there are over 68k unique makeup shades on the market today, finding the right products for one's skin tone and skin type is the top pain point consumers have when shopping for makeup online. That's why we started our company, Hue, an AI-powered recommendation engine that empowers every beauty shopper to find the perfect makeup products for their unique complexion. Through our direct integration on brands' and retailers' e-commerce sites, our universal skin profiling algorithm ("Hue ID") identifies shoppers' skin tone, skin type, and beauty preferences, and aggregates product reviews and recommendations from real people with the same skin profile ("Skin Twins").
