Since its founding in 1870, the City Bar has been dedicated to maintaining the high ethical standards of the legal profession, promoting reform of the law and providing service to the profession and the public. The City Bar's 150 Committees issue hundreds of reports and present hundreds of events annually. The Legal Referral Service matches vetted lawyers with clients. The City Bar Center for CLE provides continuing legal education for lawyers. The City Bar Justice Center provides pro bono legal services to the disadvantaged. Protecting the public's welfare remains one of the Association's highest priorities.
