M&F Bank was a community bank headquartered in Kosciusko, Mississippi. It was formed in 1890. The bank was a wholly owned subsidiary of First M&F Corporation (NASDAQ:FMFC), established in 1979. M&F Bank operated bank branches, finance company offices and insurance agency offices during its tenure. The bank's operational footprint expanded throughout central and north Mississippi, southwest Tennessee, central Alabama and the Florida panhandle. First M&F Corporation and M&F Bank were acquired by Renasant Corporation (NASDAQ:RNST) and Renasant Bank, based in Tupelo, Mississippi on September 1, 2013. First M&F Corp had approximately $1.528 billion in assets at the acquisition date.
