Folded Wing was founded in 2006 by former BBC producer Karen Pearson. Karen produced the Gilles Peterson ‘Worldwide' show on BBC Radio 1 and around the world for over 5 years, and at Folded Wing is Director of the company and Senior Producer on the Jamie Cullum show for BBC Radio 2. Folded Wing produce radio shows, documentaries and podcasts for a number of clients including the BBC, Nike and Red Bull, alongside a number of international broadcasters including Tokyo's J-Wave FM. Some of our regular radio shows include ‘Jamie Cullum' on BBC Radio 2, ‘The Selector' for the British Council (syndicated to FM partner stations in over 30 countries) and ‘Pick n Mix Live from the Red Bull Studio' on NME Radio. Karen and Folded Wing continue to run the hugely successful ‘Broad Casting' nights at various musical venues around the UK, featuring unique performances and collaborations with artists from around the world. Folded Wing also curate and produce groundbreaking multi-platform events such as TEDx Soho LDN, the first ever TEDx Women event in London. In 2008 Folded Wing were awarded a Sony Gold Award for the Book Slam podcast. In June 2011, Folded Wing won 5 awards in one week, most notably 'Indie Of The Year' at the Radio Production Awards. These awards consolidate the company's reputation for bringing a high-level production aesthetic to broadcasting and a glimpse of the future face of the medium.
